The Serious Crash Unit is investigating and Eros Road was closed on Sunday afternoon
One person died after a car and a motorcycle collided on Eros Road in Flat Bush on Sunday afternoon.
Police were told of the crash at about 1.35pm, and confirmed the death in a statement issued at 3.38pm.
Police said the Serious Crash Unit was at the scene and enquiries into the circumstances were continuing. The road was closed and drivers were told to expect delays.
Eros Road is a residential street of 12 houses, running between McQuoids Road and Karoro Road. The speed limit is 50km/h.
Footage from the scene showed a red vehicle with damage to its passenger-side door and wing mirror, 1News reported.
Hato Hone St John sent an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, an operations manager and a helicopter, the New Zealand Herald reported.
Police have not said whether the person who died was riding the motorcycle or driving the car, and no name has been released.
