Organisers say Saturday’s classic car street party was the biggest HOP the village has held.
An estimated 45,000 people packed Howick village for the CRC Howick Village HOP on Saturday 10 October, according to organisers.
Organisers called it their biggest HOP yet.
About 250 vehicles were on show between 9am and 2.30pm.
The crowd filled Picton Street from one end to the other, spilled through the Howick Village Market and carried on along Selwyn Road and into Moore Street.
People also moved in and out of the village shops and businesses all day, organisers said.
The day included midget car champion Michael Pickens with his car, and The Gambler, a Scania truck rig.
Vintage caravans and pedal cars were on display at Fencible Park, in an area organisers called Lilliput Lane.
In a post after the event, organisers said the atmosphere was electric, the crowds were phenomenal and the support for the village was extraordinary.
They thanked vehicle owners, stallholders, entertainers, volunteers, sponsors and local businesses for helping make the day happen.
CRC Industries came on board as naming rights sponsor this year.
Other sponsors were Matassa Property Services, Motive Auto Restorers, Bayleys, the Howick Local Board, Star Insure and Mothers, the car polish brand.
Organisers said they could not be prouder of the village and the community that supports it.
